Sock Knitting Using the Magic Loop Method
In this intermediate level class, you'll learn how to knit a pair of socks using the Magic Loop method. If you've never tried (or heard of) Magic Loop, it's an ingenious way to knit in the round while avoiding the undesirable "ladders" that sometimes result from using double-pointed needles. You should be skilled in the basics of knitting - cast-on/off, knit stitch, purl stitch, increasing and decreasing. Techniques learned include: Judy's Magic Cast On, Magic Loop, toe-up sock, short-rows, Jeni's Stretchy Bind Off.
Bring yarn and needles to first class; pattern will be emailed to all registrants prior to first class.
Lori Dossett has enjoyed the art of knitting since the age of 10. She creates a variety of projects, from simple hats to more complex sweaters. One of her stranded sweater projects won a second place ribbon at the 2009 Minnesota State Fair. Knitting provides her with not only an opportunity to make meaningful gifts for friends, but it also makes her feel "productive" while watching mindless television shows.
