Writing College Essays:Sharing Your Life Through Story Gr. 10-12
As college deadlines approach, one of the most common things students struggle with is the college essay. Navigating how to stand out from the pack while remaining true and thoughtful to your own story can be a challenge. Students taking this course will learn how to unpack what prompts are asking of them, brainstorm a variety of possible topics for several common app and college specific essays, participate in thorough discussions and the writing process with other engaged students, and write and revise several essays for their own writing portfolio. At the end of the week, each student should have at least three strong examples of essays that have been both peer and teacher reviewed.
