Youth Summer 2021
Summer Dance is designed to prepare students for the movement requirements in their upcoming performances for the school year. Focus will be placed on learning the style, genre, and choreography for the upcoming musicals in the 2021-22 season. Students are taught the basic movement vocabulary and techniques of ballet, tap, and jazz.
Jessica Froehlich holds a BFA in acting from MaryMount Manhattan College, an MA in Education from the University of St. Thomas, a certificate in Gifted Education from Hamline University, is a Nationally Board Certified teacher, and is a licensed instructor of Theatre, Dance and English at Edina High School. She lives happily with her husband, Steve and son, Max in Richfield, MN. She has provided direction and choreography for the EHS Thespians for the past twelve years and directs EHS’s “Theater for All” program with Lisa Hanson. Her favorite theatre memories include performing in the original Off-Broadway production of Can’t Stop Dancing, directed and written by Charles Strouse,(1992) having her production of As You Like It (which she directed and choreographed for the Princeton Players)performed at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland (1995), and having her choreography for Anything Goes and Fiddler on the Roof seen at the International Thespian Festival (2011 & 2014).
