Going to School in USA: Class for South Asian Parents with Children in K-12 School System in the US

Adult / Lifelong Learning -
Adult Fall 2021

If you are a parent from a South Asian country, have a K-12 age child in the public school system, and want to learn about navigating the American school system, this course might be for you. Having grown up in another country at another time, if you are learning about the American school system for the first time as your child enters Kindergarten or elementary school or middle or high school for that matter, you might have many questions: What are the expectations and norms? How do I help my child navigate the school system, while at the same time retain my own cultural norms? Let’s come together to learn, ask questions and share.
