The Natural Way to Draw With Color: Ages 10-16

Youth Winter/Spring 2023

This beginner oriented class will focus on basic drawing techniques using color materials.(Colored pencil, sketch crayons, chalk and oil pastels, and watercolor.  You will need to purchase the following materials prior to the first day of class:

  • One Ebony pencil
  • One 6B pencil
  • One 4B pencil
  • One kneaded eraser
  • One hand held metal pencil sharpener
  • One 11"x14"drawing pad
  • One 11"x14" newsprint pad
  • Vine charcoal sticks - soft
  • Masking tape 1/2"
  • Conte sketch crayons - four color set
  • One 15"x16" sketch board (or slightly larger)
  • one small set of oil pastels
  • one small set of chalk pastels
  • one small set of watercolors with a brush
  • one small set of colored pencils

Jeanne Aaron

Jeanne Aaron studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago, received a BFA from the University of Illinois and an MFA from UCLA. Her drawings, sculptures and Batiks have been exhibited in galleries and museums in Chicago, San Francisco and the Twin Cities.
