Join the musical adventure with the Edina Pops Orchestra Summer Camp where we’ll transform your favorite hits into stunning orchestral arrangements. From epic video game themes to chart-topping rock anthems, we'll explore music that makes your heart sing and your strings ring!With enough players, we’ll create a Middle and High school string group that will dive into an exciting world where classical technique meets contemporary cool. So put your music reading skills to work in a whole new way as we tackle fresh, fun arrangements that'll have you playing outside the classical box while simultaneously showing everyone just how versatile your orchestra skills can be!Music is best played with friends so sign up together and stick around for the afternoon Chamber music session! *Camp will run Monday-Thursday on site at Edina. Friday 7/18 will be a cumulative performance in the early evening from the Pops Summer String Camp as well as the Summer Chamber String Camp at Centennial Lakes open to the public. Details TBA.
Requirements:
• Participants must have an instruments they can use (exceptions for bass players pending enrollment)
• Participants must have basic knowledge of how to play their instrument with a bow
• Participants must be able to note read and / or have participated in the Edina Orchestra Program during the school year.
Strongly Recommended:
Students should consider their availability for the Friday early evening performance at the Centennial Lakes Maetzold Amphitheater on July 18th. While not required, the performance outcome will be contingent on group participation.
