Learn the Art of copper foil stained glass with John Hanson who has been designing, creating, repairing, and restoring antique glass windows for over 25 years. All tools, supplies, and materials are supplied and each student takes home a small panel. Safety glasses must be brought and used while cutting and grinding glass. Age 12 and over with an adult may attend. No experience needed. You will learn how to make, cut, and use patterns, cut and grind glass, tape glass with copper foil, solder glass, finish the edges with a zinc border, and add rings for hanging. He will also discuss how to use patina and polish to finish the panel.
You must have sufficient arm and hand strength to cut and break glass.$40 materials fee to be paid in cash on first day of class. Bring your own safety glasses/goggles.
