    Competitive math. Competitions through MN Junior High Math League (MNJHML) and MATHCOUNTS. Five MNJHML competitions are held after school October – January and focus mostly on 8th grade Algebra 1 concepts. MATHCOUNTS is an extended season for select Math Team members, beginning immediately after MNJHML ends, with a much broader focus of math concepts reaching into the realms of Geometry, Probability, Counting, and Algebra 2. It’s a great place for students who have a passion for math to get together and do math! We have lots of fun every week!     Into The Woods is an engaging play experience in a unique natural setting adjacent to Highlands Elementary that features woods and a small pond. Kids will be able to create their own imaginative play schemes, build forts and climb trees at their own pace. Special activities will include a mini pumpkin hunt, scarecrow constructing and baking cinnamon apples over an open fire.     In this exciting Bluey-themed community education class, students will step into the colorful world of Bluey and her family through hands-on activities, and active play. Designed for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade, each day will be packed with engaging, themed projects inspired by episodes of the beloved television show. We’ll explore themes from different episodes and bring them to life through interactive projects like baking and running a real Bluey-themed lemonade stand, complete with homemade lemonade! Students will also go on exciting Bluey scavenger hunts, work together on imaginative group games, and express themselves through imaginative play—just like Bluey and Bingo do every day. From 11:30 to 12:30, students will enjoy a relaxing lunch/snack break while watching carefully selected Bluey episodes that tie into the day’s activities, reinforcing the values of friendship, empathy, and problem-solving in an age-appropriate and heartwarming way.     Safeway Driving School provides a comprehensive driver education program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and responsible driving. Our program is open to students aged 14.5 to 18, offering flexibility and convenience for families. What's Included: 30 hours of classroom instruction: Covering state-approved curriculum to prepare students for their permit exam. 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training: Individualized, hands-on driving lessons with professional, experienced instructors.
