Fremont Debate Academy is a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit organization that is developing a competitive debate program in Edina, focusing on the Middle School Public Debate Format. Over the span of weekly meetings for 8 weeks, students will develop argumentation and research skills, helping them set a solid foundation for themselves in the future. Lectures, practice rounds, and a culminating tournament will all be included in the program. This program is led by Arya Mirza, a junior at Edina on the debate team, and will be run by her and multiple other high school debaters. Over the past 5 years, with a team of 200+ volunteers/leaders, we have taught over 1600+ students and have programs scheduled in 12 states + 6 countries for this school year.
