Students will learn the beginning skills of crocheting! The relaxed, repetitive motions such as the ones used in crochet can help calm down the body and the brain. Students will learn basic stitches and have the choice of making one or more of the following projects that include: a bath bag to hold slippery soap, a jewelry roll to keep items from getting tangled, or an envelope-style purse for glasses or keepsakes. Please note: this camp is at Edina High School.

What can you make with cardboard? Let your imagination go crazy: create a castle, a town, maybe a challenge speedway! Join the fun and spend time using your imagination creating with friends.

Unicorns, dragons, mermaids, and more! In this camp, we’ll create art inspired by adorable mystical creatures when they’re at their cutest and tiniest… when they’re babies! Your little artist’s imagination will sparkle and soar as they create these magical projects. Painting, drawing, playing with clay, scribbling and giggling, we’ll do it all in this darling camp!

Explore multicultural art in our Worldly Artistic Designs workshop. We begin our world tour in Mexico as we draw several welcoming, colorful doorways. Next, we journey to Africa and explore the design intricacies of African crafts. Our artistic enlightenment doesn’t stop there; we’ll move on to design Paisley patterns, an ancient design embraced by many cultures. Then, Asian paper lanterns will shed light on the Far Eastern design styles. Our travels end in Russia as we illustrate a mainstay of Russian architecture - the onion dome. These classes will be messy fun, so dress appropriately.

Our students will be elated as we celebrate our cuddly friends in the new Household Pets workshop. We’ll get our feet wet on the first day of class as we draw a stylized aquarium graphic. The following days will be filled with more drawings of our animal friends. We will explore different styles of drawing and coloring. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Summer Dance is designed to prepare students for the movement requirements in their upcoming performances for the school year. Focus will be placed on learning the style, genre, and choreography for the upcoming musicals in the 2021-22 season. Students are taught the basic movement vocabulary and techniques of ballet, tap, and jazz.

These art projects will light up your child’s world long after the lights go out at night. You guessed it, all the projects your child creates will glow-in-the-dark! We will work with a variety of art supplies including clay, paint, and many luminescent materials to create masterpieces your child will be excited to show off in the dark!

Everyone can be a great artist with our foolproof, step-by step process! Have fun making clay pinch pots, wooden projects, tie-dye and more! Join your fellow Edina Orchestra members in a week-long summer camp to help maintain your playing skills in the middle of summer! We will make new friends, learn new music, and perform a concert for family and friends at the end of the week! This offering is for students who just completed 6th through 8th Grade and will be entering 7th through 9th Grade in the fall of 2021.

If you believe in fairies, clap your hands, and come to this whimsical, glitter-filled camp! Your little fairy princess will create a fairy castle, a crown, wings, a wand and more. She will even make her own Tooth Fairy box. With the help of Tinkerbell and her fairy friends, she is sure to experience the magic of art!

If your child is a fan of cuddly animals and funny cartoons, this drawing workshop is especially tailored for his or her needs. Over the course of five days, our students will learn how to draw animals of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Instructors will lead painting projects throughout the week allowing your child to tap into their creative brain while honing their hand-eye coordination. Best of all, the mess will be left at camp!

Young artists just can’t wait to rhyme and paint with Kidcreate! In this class, we’ll read the beloved nursery rhymes of Mother Goose as we imagine the fantastic! Have you ever seen a mouse run up a clock, or a dish run away with a spoon? Have you ever taken your lamb to school? We’ll experience these whimsical stories as we create with a variety of kid-friendly art materials.
