    In this exciting Bluey-themed community education class, students will step into the colorful world of Bluey and her family through hands-on activities, and active play. Designed for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade, each day will be packed with engaging, themed projects inspired by episodes of the beloved television show. We’ll explore themes from different episodes and bring them to life through interactive projects like baking and running a real Bluey-themed lemonade stand, complete with homemade lemonade! Students will also go on exciting Bluey scavenger hunts, work together on imaginative group games, and express themselves through imaginative play—just like Bluey and Bingo do every day. From 11:30 to 12:30, students will enjoy a relaxing lunch/snack break while watching carefully selected Bluey episodes that tie into the day’s activities, reinforcing the values of friendship, empathy, and problem-solving in an age-appropriate and heartwarming way.   • (Online) Driver's Education: Classroom Instruction & Behind the Wheel: Ages 14.5-18

    Safeway Driving School provides a comprehensive driver education program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and responsible driving. Our program is open to students aged 14.5 to 18, offering flexibility and convenience for families. What's Included: 30 hours of classroom instruction: Covering state-approved curriculum to prepare students for their permit exam. 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training: Individualized, hands-on driving lessons with professional, experienced instructors. Flexible scheduling: Convenient class times and driving sessions designed to fit your student's busy schedule, with easy make-up options available for busy teenaged schedules. State certification: Upon completion of the program, students will receive all necessary documentation to apply for their Minnesota driver’s license. Important Timelines and Planning Tips: Students have one year from the end of the classroom portion or their 15th birthday, whichever is later, to complete their three, 2 hour, behind-the-wheel lessons.     In this course your children will build critical thinking skills and learn basic strategy. We will also test our emotional maturity through teambuilding, participation requirements, and available prizes by traveling the original Pokemon Kanto map from the Red/Blue/Green games. Your child will have the opportunity to win multiple prizes and a pizza party! Earning these things requires your children to work as a team and utilize all players to advance through this 2 day quest. We will also explore our love of Pokemon in a social setting that encourages imagination, excitement, and play.     F.A.S.T. KIDS – Staying Safe While Home Alone First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for 7 - 10-year-olds. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Students will receive a book, handouts and a home first aid kit as part of the class.

    Students will learn the basics that all birders use to help in identifying birds. These basic skills are the start to a lifelong hobby that gets you out in nature and can be done on any location on Earth. Each week students will be introduced to common Minnesota birds and create a take-home birding guide. Each session will end with a birding session on the school grounds.   • Give Back & Grow on The Farm at YMCA Camp St. Croix

    Give Back & Grow is a service learning field trip experience hosted on The Farm at YMCA Camp St. Croix. Students will get to experience the joy of giving back and making a difference for local children, families, and communities through two main activities: Farm Service Learning: Learn about and help with farm chores. Scavenger Hunt: Participate in a camp-wide scavenger hunt to learn about ecological concepts and practice team building in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, learn about farming, volunteer, and have fun with friends while making a real difference. Students can count this field trip experience as volunteer hours toward the Edina Service Stars program. Please Note: Lunch is not provided, so participants must bring their own bag lunch.
