    Baby and Me Sampler

    Parents with young babies, this free introduction to Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is for you! We recognize the importance of getting off to a strong start with your baby and our classes offer a great way to strengthen the bond with your child. Meet other new parents and learn about infant growth and development. Free, but registration required. No sibling care is provided. Offered September through May on the second Monday of the month from 11:45-12:45 pm.

  • Ballet Choreography/Performance- Adult/Teen

    ***Prerequisites: Separate registration, payment, and participation in Beginning/Intermediate Ballet (129-B2027) immediately before this class for warm up purposes.*** Learn ballet choreography created just for you! The beauty of ballet is most often seen through choreography and performance. This class allows you to be part of that beauty and fun! You will: • Learn a newly choreographed group piece, specifically choreographed for those who have signed up for the class (meaning it will be based on steps you know, for the most part). • Rehearse the piece and work to make it better once it is learned. • Perform for your friends or family at the end of the class. The performance will be in the classroom only and will be optional. Those who chose not to perform will be given “understudy roles." It is recommended that you have at least a year of dance class experience (current or past) before signing up for this class. Those who miss the ballet class that day my come to rehearsal and take notes but not dance as dancing cold is unsafe in ballet. Those who are sick or out of town may sign in online via Zoom to watch rehearsal and take notes if they choose and if they give the instructor sufficient notice.
  • Beginner Bicycle Repair and Maintenance: Gr. 6-8

    Basic bike set up, identification, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, how to safety check your bike, preparing a bike for selling, as well as many other helpful tips & tricks. If you take another class you can start where you left off and move to the next level of learning. Please try to bring a bike.
  • Beginner Synchronized Swimming: Gr. 1-5

    Does your child enjoy dance, theater, music, art and swimming? Try synchronized swimming to combine them all! This class will be an introduction for girls in grades 1-12 to try synchronized swimming. Swimmers will combine a love of music, dance, and swimming to learn the basics of synchronized swimming from experienced coaches and get to perform a short routine. ***Athletes already on the Edina Synchronized Swim team are not eligible to register for this introductory course.*** Swimmers must be comfortable and independent in deep water and should be able to swim at least the length of the pool without assistance.

  • Beginner/Intermediate Ballet - Adult / Teen

    This class is designed for people with knowledge of basic ballet barre steps and ballet technique and who like to have fun and learn a lot. This class focuses on continuing to teach ballet technique and new ballet steps. It is recommended that you have done at least one session of beginning ballet before taking this class. The teacher also ensures that students get a good workout. Individualized attention is given to all students to help students improve all their ballet and their strength while working to prevent pain and injury. Attend in person or join online via Zoom or a mixture of both.

    Remembering the basics and refreshing previously learned ballet vocabulary alongside other adults. Ballet classes are a great way to gain strength and flexibility, improve posture and balance, and reduce stress in a noncompetitive atmosphere.

    Beginning Mah Jongg Session III: Wednesdays: Adult

    This introductory course to American MahJongg will show you everything we’ve learned to love about the wonderful world of “MAHJ” - the snacks, the chat, and of course the game! In this four-part series you will learn the basics, be able to ask questions, and get plenty of practice. Soon you will master this exciting and challenging game of skill, strategy, and luck.

    Beyond ECFE: Parenting Elementary Students

    Come to class and learn new parenting skills as your child grows from Elementary through High School years. Beyond ECFE Classes are taught by Licensed Parent Educators, meeting once per month. Group discussion allows parents to share their challenges, experience and wisdom. Topics are determined based on the interests of the class. Classes offered are: Parenting Elementary Students, Parenting Middle School Students, and Parenting High School Students. Parenting Elementary Students (First Thursday of the month): Topics may include working in partnership with teachers, identity, sleep, friendships, discipline, emotion coaching, sibling relationships, over-scheduling, home-school communication, beginning puberty, teaching personal and media safety, moral development, chores and allowance and other concerns common to this age and stage. Topics are flexible and will reflect the interests of the group. For the months of January and April, class will be the second Thursday (January 9th and April 10th).

Topics are flexible and reflect the interest of the group. For the months of November and April, class will be held on the 3rd Tuesday (November 19th and April 15th).

Classes offered are: Parenting Elementary Students, Parenting Middle School Students, and Parenting High School Students. Parenting Middle School Students (First Tuesday of the month): Topics may include friendships and social dynamics, personality and independence, behavior and discipline, back talk and rude behavior, building resilience, developing responsibility, self-confidence, body image, emotion coaching, balancing homework and activities, puberty, adolescent brain development, and technology and social media. Topics are flexible and will reflect the interests of the group. For the months of November and April, class will be held on the 2nd Tuesday November 12th and April 8th).
  • Bicycle Repair and Maintenance 3 Hour Class: Adult

    Weekend 3hr class will build from basic to more advance. Many of your bike issues can be solved in this class! Major focus will be on identification of bicycle parts, trailside repair, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, chain maintenance, how to repair/replace a tube (flat tire), how to safety check your bike. We will also learn basic wheel truing, replacing a chain, how to replace brake and shifting cables. Please bring a bike. Especially one that need work! Great value if you factor in a tune up!!

    1wk Camps will teach you basic bike set up, trailside repair, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, learn how to re-cable a bike for shifting and brakes, tube replacement, tips & tricks, and preparing a bike for selling, Students are free to bring a different bike to each class. Many of your bike issues can be solved in this class! Parts are an extra fee if it is something more major or we will help you source new parts if needed. Please try to bring a bike. Students are encouraged to bring a different bike as we repair every day of camp!

  • Bloxel Builders: Video Game Design Camp: Gr. 4-8

    Calling all game developers! Students in this camp enjoy creating their own games with character, enemy and plot development. Using the Bloxels Edu system, they turn their game ideas into a digital video game. They will use a special game board and blocks to design the characters, levels, and other art for their games. They then capture their creations using the Bloxels app, where they edit and customize their game, deciding how each of the elements interact and behave. Students will walk away with a fun playable game on a tablet or computer, and invaluable experience with logic and programming.
  • Bonjour French Camp: Gr. 1

    Bonjour camp for the lower grades are taught by Madame Abdo (Kindergarten) and Madame Thomas (1st grade) and is an introduction to the first week of school in French. Incoming kindergarten students will be introduced in French to the 6 colors, numbers 0-10, how to say hello , goodbye, and a few songs in French. Along with that they will learn how to be a student at Normandale French immersion . How to sit in a circle, classroom rules , how to ask to go to the bathroom , open lockers , and stand in line. It is a great introduction and makes your child less anxious and stressful to start school. Incoming first grade students will engage in a variety of community building activities in French including: art projects, oral language games, sing alongs, and light literacy and math games. They will have a chance to reconnect with their friends from kindergarten and make new friends in a fun and engaging space.
