Our summer camp program utilizes Minecraft: Education Edition, an educational version of Minecraft specifically designed for classroom use. This camp will focus on CREATIVE mode. In this Minecraft mode, campers explore collaborative creations ranging from nature to city to fantasy story type worlds. We will also explore amusement park creations with mini-game creations, parkour, as well as creating redstone contraptions. Campers will also get a chance to work in teams focusing on building and problem-solving challenges! Requirements: Campers who are enrolled in Edina Public Schools are guaranteed a Minecraft Education account. Students outside of the school district may or may not be able to have an account created for them. Chromebooks are provided for campers to access Minecraft worlds

Because YOU have asked for it - we have created this extraordinary Minecraft camp! Explore the ins & outs of Minecraft World Edit and take your Minecraft skills to the next level. Learn how to modify the way Minecraft is played as you explore awesome commands to build your very own project. Time allowing, the camp also includes fun tutorial maps, architecture building, and even modifying the terrain.

Campers will get to explore the skills needed to start with nothing, gradually collect and create materials to help them survive the many challenges in a Minecraft world including the biggest challenge of the End. Campers will also get a chance to work in teams focusing on building and problem-solving challenges! Things to Note: Campers who are enrolled in Edina Public Schools are guaranteed a Minecraft Education account. Students outside of the school district may or may not be able to have an account created for them. Chromebooks are provided for campers to access Minecraft world.

***Bring a USB drive (minimum 8GB) to save your games on the last day*** YouTube is the top destination for online videos. Learn how to create a YouTube Let's Play video: capture and do a P.C. gaming session voice-over! In the first half of camp, learn tricks pro filmmakers use for better shots, capture gameplay, add sound effects. You will also learn to use our film editing software in a class project. Then, in the second half of camp, students will create their short videos. Choose from capturing a Minecraft, Lego Racer, Minesweeper, or Solitaire session. Edit your video, add transitions, and insert a soundtrack. Finally, share your finished video with the world.
