    Students will solidify the more complex aspects of the Spanish language in is this lively course. The curriculum emphasizes more complex grammatical and linguistic components as well increasing conversational abilities. For example: Students will learn to tell time, compare and contrast ser and estar, and construct complete sentences using adverbs. They will continue their introductions to verb conjugations to include more–ar, as well as -er, and –ir verbs in the present tense. Students will learn to ask questions using interrogative words, learn negation vocabulary, and be able to effectively say how long something has been going on (acabar + de infinitive). A review of Spanish adjectives will be incorporated so that students describe themselves and others=Total conceptual learning. Spanish grammar can be fun when it is taught using culture, games, and songs like it is here! For students with two or more years of previous Spanish experience

    This lively introduction to the Spanish language uses a dynamic, hands-on method of instruction called the Building Block Method of Learning® to teach basic Spanish components using songs, games, and cultural activities. Meeting twice a week, students will be able to accelerate their basic Spanish skills more quickly. Your child will learn how to ask and answer basic questions in Spanish, speak about his or her family, count to 100, state the date, and correctly pronounce all Spanish letters. Students will be able to say the months of the year, discuss monthly weather patterns and relate them to a particular season. With conversation as the focus, students will also learn colors, animals, body parts, things found in a classroom, and clothing. Students will begin to make complete sentences in Spanish. Topics will include sports, transportation, things found around the house, the outdoors, adjectives, and places found in a town, etc. By the end of the course students will be able to translate the verb IR and appropriately use Me gusta in various sentences. Additionally, students will learn subject pronouns and adjectives to describe people. A fun instructional method along with fascinating cultural topics ensure that students will also love this class! For students with one year of previous Spanish experience
