Learn the skills needed to have a successful year in Algebra 1. During this course, students will learn effective note-taking strategies for math success, brush up on last year’s learning and get a head start on this fall’s Algebra course. Students will leave this course with a notebook of learned concepts organized in the manner taught in class so it can be used as reference throughout the school year. Please note: This class can be paired with the Study Skills class immediately following it.

Learn the study skills needed to have a successful school year. Your student will learn: how to set & reach academic goals, effective note-taking methods, strategies for retaining learning, reading comprehension strategies, how to increase focus and on-task behaviors, how to stay motivated during the school year, how to create great work habits and more. Please Note: There is a Head Start Algebra 1 immediately before this class and a Head Start Geometry immediately after for any student who wishes to do both.
