This course covers 30 hours of classroom training, and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel lessons. Miss a class? No problem. Each lesson is independent and can be taken in any order. If a lesson is missed, a student can make it up when it is convenient for them and finish at their own pace.
The behind-the-wheel training will be scheduled with Safeway after the student has completed the classroom training and passed the permit test. It consists of six hours of one-on-one private instruction with a responsible, professional driving instructor. Lessons are two-hour sessions and include pick-up and drop-off from home, work or school. Training is done on actual city streets and highways. All of Safeway’s instructors are licensed by the MN Depart of Public Safety, having met the State’s background checks and testing requirements.
Students must be at least 14.5 years old to join the class.
