Create chic accessories like purses and necklaces, and sketch your own trendy shoes, clothes, and accessories just like a pro. We’ll groove to your favorite tunes, design up a storm, and even have a nail-painting party! With all-time favorite activities and exciting new projects, this camp is a must for fashion lovers. Get ready to slay the fashion world with your creativity! Please bring a nut-free snack, water bottle, and recess attire.

Are you taking your violin, viola, cello, or bass to camp this summer? Or will you be surrounded by friends and family over the 4th of July with everyone asking you to play a song? Or do you want to show off your chops by learning how to chop (a technique used to create a percussive sound on your string instrument) like a pro! This summer, the Edina Orchestra Program is happy to launch its first ever "Edina Fiddle Camp" for students in middle and high school who have prior knowledge of how to play their violin, viola, cello, or upright bass! We'll learn tunes by ear (supported by sheet music if needed), how to harmonize a melody, how to lay down a bass line, and how all string instruments can cut loose and jam using bluegrass, old-timey, Celtic, and traditional folk music. Make a custom cedar bird house while learning hand and power tools useful for many woodworking projects. Saws, drills, and hammering technique will be covered. This class is taught by local creators Alo Osberg and Andrew Young as a part of our Summer Artist in Residence Program. Summer Artist in Residence Program Immerse yourself in creativity this summer! Our Artist in Residence Program is a vibrant initiative designed to connect community members with local makers, artists, and performers, fostering meaningful interactions that celebrate the arts and engage with the creative process up close. This program also offers kids a unique opportunity to delve deeply into the arts, exploring their creativity through hands-on experiences guided by professional artists. From woodworking to music and theater, kids will discover new passions and hone their talents in a supportive and inspiring environment. Join us for a summer of connection, creativity, and discovery as we build bridges between artists and the community while nurturing the next generation of creative thinkers! Andrew Young (he/they) is a Taiwanese-Indonesian-American artist and educator. Andrew has taught for COMPAS, Mia, Urban Boatbuilders, and In the Heart of the Beast. He loves working with wood and introducing others to the craft.

Whether it’s a courageous princess, an evil villain, a daring hero, or a mischievous sidekick, every student will find their moment in the spotlight. Family and friends are invited to a special performance on the last day of camp.

Do you have a great idea for a novel, but don’t know how to begin? This program will help you structure, plan, and flesh out your novel by working on outlining, plot, characterization, and vivid descriptions.

Expressing, feeling, learning, creating! In this self-expressive art camp youth will learn how to communicate feelings and thoughts through painting, drawing, and group project activities. Using self-leadership tools youth will learn how to organize their thoughts and feelings in new creative ways to bring what's on the "inside" to life on paper! Please bring a nut-free snack, water bottle, and a soothing stuffed animal/toy. We plan to take a 15-20 min intentional bathroom/snack/general break during class.

{YEL!} BEGINNING GUITAR For students entering 3rd – 5th grades Join this dynamic course to learn a dynamite instrument! Players will learn the basics of music including reading music, rhythm, melody and meter. We keep the class fun while making the instrument easily accessible for all students. Join us for Storybook Art, as we embark on exciting storytelling adventures and hands-on art projects inspired by each story. Every class begins with reading a captivating children's book. After the story, we will use our creativity to bring the story to life through drawing, painting, crafting, and other fun art activities.

Join us for Cardboard Camp, where we will explore the possibilities of cardboard as a building material. Each session will involve designing and constructing unique projects.

Comic Book Kids is a designed course to teach children how to illustrate, create strong characters, use effective dialogue, and conflict in chronological order to create a comic book. Unleash their imagination and creativity and make their dreams come true!

Turn an upcycled wooden box into a fully playable 3-string craft box guitar in this hands-on, creativity-fueled class! Using a custom kit provided by the instructor, you'll explore both the physics of making sound and the fundamentals of woodworking. Learn to safely saw, drill, glue, and finish your instrument while gaining practical skills in tool use and construction. Whether you're a music lover, a DIY enthusiast, or just looking for a unique project, you'll leave with a one-of-a-kind guitar and a deeper appreciation for the art of instrument making.
