Learn how to make Mead using a basic recipe of honey, water and yeast with a focus on crafting a delicious dry or semi-dry beverage. You will learn how to source ingredients and get the right equipment, how to choose yeast, and what fruit or herbs work best for flavoring. We will go through the process of mixing a batch step by step. Julie will cover primary fermentation, secondary fermentation, racking off and bottling. Presented in a colorful and focused keynote slide show, this class includes mead making stories of success and mistakes to avoid as well as little known secrets. Making your own adult beverages is rewarding and fun! No alcohol is used in this class.
