Exploring Japanese Art Forms – Manga, Origami, and Printmaking Discover the beauty, precision, and creativity of traditional and contemporary Japanese art in this dynamic and hands-on art class. Students will explore three unique art forms—Manga, Origami, and Printmaking—each offering a window into Japan’s rich cultural heritage and artistic innovation.

• Manga: Dive into the world of Japanese comic art by learning the fundamentals of character design. Students will create their own manga characters while studying the styles and techniques of iconic manga artists.
• Origami: Experience the meditative and geometric art of paper folding. From simple cranes to complex modular forms, students will explore the symbolism, history, and mathematical concepts behind this centuries-old practice.
• Printmaking: Inspired by traditional Japanese woodblock prints (ukiyo-e), students will experiment with relief printmaking techniques to create layered, textured images. Learn about historic artists like Hokusai and Hiroshige while crafting your original prints.

This class is perfect for students who are curious about Japanese culture, enjoy working with different art mediums, and want to develop art skills and personal expression. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and curiosity!
