Introduction to Bowl Turning : Woodworking on the Lathe

Adult / Lifelong Learning -
Adult Summer 2025

During this introduction to bowl turning class, students will have the opportunity to work on their own green bowl, being able to take a finished bowl home at the end of class. As part of learning this process, class will cover the basics of parts of the lathe, how to mount and secure a bowl blank, using the proper tools, and learning how to turn the inside and outside of a bowl. During the first part of class, students make the outside of their bowl, while the second part of class will be focused on carving out the inside. Proper safety will also be covered and maintained throughout class.
