This class will explore the history, culture, and especially the art of the first civilization in Europe: the Minoans of the island of modern-day Crete. This egalitarian, peace-loving civilization flourished from circa 3000 B.C. till 1200 B.C. Its impact on ancient Greece cannot be overestimated.

Stephen Partridge has two master's degrees in writing from the University of Minnesota. He has published six books on historical subjects, including the history of ancient Greece and World War II. Stephen has taught many adult ed classes at Edina Community Education. He lives in Edina and writes fiction full-time.
