Youth Woodshop: Wooden Trinket Shelf

Youth / Expand Your World & Enrichment -
Youth Winter/Spring 2026

In this after-school course we will be designing and making a small shelf, or for the more experienced students a set of small shelves! Students will be using ¾ thick pine planking of various widths put together with glue and nails utilizing simple rabbet joinery. There will be plenty of room to add personal touches in how students choose to design, shape, and finish their shelves. We will be focusing on highly crafted shelves smaller than two feet in width and one foot in depth. We will discuss mounting options and students will be encouraged to bring items they want to store on the shelf to ensure correct sizing.
