In Person: Design Your World: Art Studio to Reality: Gr. 6-9Expand Your World & EnrichmentApply art to the things you want to communicate! “I just want to draw or sculpt my fantasy world but I don’t know where to start!?”, “I like my medieval castle, but it doesn’t look real enough. How can I make it better?”, “I want to make a place for my cool monsters to play!” “What is the Mars Space Station going to look like?” The art class that attempts to put students on the path of using art to express their ideas. Instruction is based on student inquiry. This offering has evolved from the observation that students love to create places that don’t currently exist, as far as we know. Ingredients lists will be sent out before class begins to give you time to stock up. Younger participants may need the assistance of an adult. Starting SoonOnline: Fall/Winter/Spring chess Club Tournaments (In House): Gr. K-5Expand Your World & EnrichmentWhether you consider yourself a beginner or intermediate player, this tournament format will place 2020-21 online club players from the fall, winter, & spring into experience level pools based on their performance during club activities. Recognitions will be based on Grade Levels, Schools, & Districts in each pool; Earth (developing players), Wind (some experience), & Fire (showing proficiency). Each pool needs a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 64 players. Rounds, Recognitions and Pools are based on the registration numbers for each tournament. Each competition will have 4-6 rounds in a SWISS or Round Robin format. In addition to Standard Chess 10+3, there will also be recognitions for online chess variations as time permits such as; (Chess 960/Anti-Chess/CrazyHouse/Horde@5+0), (Racing Kings/King of the Hill/Three Check@3+0) & (Atomic, Bullet, & Ultra Bullet 1-¼+0). Players must have participated in one of the above online clubs to participate in these competitions. **With the consideration of time constraints, some chess variant competitions may overlap and participants may not be able to compete in all the variants because they will occur at the same time. You will be given the opportunity to manage the production process of a business. Basically all the decisions you would need to make in real life will present themselves as you manage your simulated workplace. Who should you hire? Do I advertise? Should I analyze my workflow, inventory, and/or cash management to increase my profits? What happens when my employees go on strike? Did they feel unsafe, unappreciated, or just low paid?
