Ballet is an excellent way to build strength, flexibility, improve posture, balance, and reduce stress. This class is perfect for both teens and adults who prefer a slower pace or are returning to ballet after a break. Midwest School of Ballet’s experienced instructors provide a traditional ballet format of barre and center work while emphasizing proper alignment, technique, musicality, and artistry. Fundamentals of Ballet/Beginning Ballet is for those who have never taken a ballet class before, or if you have taken a ballet class before but you don’t remember the basics. This class would also be appropriate for beginners who needs to refresh their beginner basics or improve their technique. Ballet Fundamentals II/III: Ages 5.5-7yrs.Sports, Health & FitnessBuild on your ballet foundation! Our classes combine creative exercises with fundamental ballet techniques, helping you develop motor skills, musicality, and a solid understanding of traditional ballet. Whether you’re new to ballet or have previous experience, you’re welcome to join us! Attire Leotard – pink, light blue, black, or other pastel colors (may have chiffon skirt attached) Pink tights, white dress ankle socks, or bare legs Ballet slippers* (pink leather or canvas only) or bare feet T-shirt, shorts, biker shorts, or leggings (the more form-fitting and movement-adaptable, the better) Ballet slippers (white or black leather or canvas) or bare feet Hair: All hair should be secured off the face, with longer hair in a ponytail or bun. Avoid purchasing ballet slippers at Target or regular shoe stores. The soles of these ballet slippers tend to be stiff and don't allow for proper pointe movement. Shoes: Should be form-fitting, with the toes resting (not curled under) against the tip of the shoe. Shoes that are too big don't allow for efficient movement. Registration Deadline Registration for all class sessions closes 7 days before the start date.
