Bonjour Camp: Gr. K
Beginning French for children entering Kindergarten at Normandale French Immersion. This is a great way to get a feel for what is to come this fall and to get a little jump on learning the songs, counting 1-10, colors, and games. Each section of Bonjour is the same. Please do not sign up for more than one section. Harriet Abdo is a Kindergarten teacher at Normandale and loves to meet the newest students starting in the fall. -

Camp Kindergarten: Incoming Kinders
Calling all incoming Kindergarteners! Get your nerves out before the actual start of Kindergarten in the fall with this four day Kindergarten preparedness camp. Experience what Kindergarten will be like in a small group setting but with all the perks of what kindergarten is. Engage in read alouds, calendar time, literacy station rotation, letter identification games, math lessons and so much more! -

Candy Lab: Gr. K-4
Create the sweetest memories this Summer in this exhilarating STEAM camp! It's time to have delicious fun as you discover the amazing science behind your favorite sweets as we mix up totally awesome experiments and design packing for your creations. Have a blast as we create tasty Gummy Bears, mix up yummy edible slime, and so much more! As you do, learn about the science and chemistry of food as well as super interesting STEAM concepts. We'll make it even sweeter with other exciting activities. Please bring a peanut-free snack and beverage. Wear clothes that can get messy. -
Chess Camp: Tactics & Strategies: Gr. 3-5
This chess camp is for players that need the next level of challenge from their school club. Maybe you’re ready to “try” tournament play. Maybe you want to “improve” your tournament play. Standard chess and variations will be used to improve your skills. Participants should be interested in a deeper level of instruction beyond the basics. -
Choose Your Own Adventure Writing Workshop: Gr. 4-6
Ever wish a story had a different ending? Ever wonder what would happen if a character made a different critical choice? Explore the genre of Choose Your Own Adventure stories by writing your own! This course will break down the planning process for a multi-path story, help you develop multiple plot twists, and give you the chance to collaborate and write with other young authors. Coding: Hacking Java Games: Gr. 4-7
Hack into the code of classic games! Students will learn Java coding skills while modifying games such as Asteroids, Tetris, Snake, and more! Coding beginners and more experienced students will love this class. This class requires basic keyboarding skills; bringing a flash drive to save code is recommended. -
College Application & Essay Writing Camp: Gr. 10-12
As college deadlines approach, one of the most common things students struggle with is the college essay. Navigating how to stand out from the pack while remaining true and thoughtful to your own story can be a challenge. Students taking this course will learn how to unpack what the essay writing prompts are asking of them and brainstorm a variety of possible topics for their work. Students will write and revise several essays for their own writing portfolio. At the end of the week, each student should have 2-3 strong examples of essays that have been both peer and teacher reviewed. -

Computer Science for Kids with Python: Gr. 3-6

Its syntax allows programmers to express concepts in fewer lines of code than would be possible in languages such as C++ or Java, making it the perfect coding language for beginners. Python is a text-based language, so students should have keyboarding and basic computer skills. -

Construction Zone Week: Ages 3-5
S.T.E.A.M: Science Technology Engineering Art Math This STEAM series of camps for your preschooler is an exciting and hands-on learning opportunity for young learners with a special emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Music while introducing Math skills. Each activity is created to be both fun and full of learning The program is intended to expose children to S.T.E.A.M. by capturing their eyes, minds and hearts with inspiration and imagination. This week young learners will build, build and build some more while exploring their very own construction zone. -
Constructor Camp: Gr. 3-5
Think about it! Design it! Build it! Each day campers will be introduced to different building materials such as cardboard, wood and nails, circuits and electricity and rope, gears and pulleys. Students will not only have time to be creative and build their own ideas, they will also be challenged daily to build specific designs such as a bird house, a potato powered light or building something that can get a ball from point a to point b. -

Learn how basic things in your kitchen are actually real chemicals and compounds that react with each other for delicious results! Explore how time, heat and cold are used to affect the outcomes of recipes used in class. Eat your results...if you dare! -
Cursive 101: Gr. 2-6
Cursive is fast becoming a lost art. Fewer and fewer students are learning cursive as part of their regular school day. Now is the perfect time to take some time and begin learning cursive writing. Students will learn the basics of reading, writing and forming the cursive letter. The instructor will lead young scholars through introductions, drills and practice of the cursive alphabet. Campers will finish class with the foundation needed to continue their practice and perfection of the lost art of cursive writing. -
Cursive 102: Gr. 2-6
Take your cursive skills to the next level. Students will expand on the basics of reading, writing and forming the cursive letter. The instructor will lead young scholars through introductions, drills and practice to improve their cursive alphabet. Campers will finish class with the foundation needed to continue their practice and perfection of the lost art of cursive writing. -
Cursive 103: Gr. 2-6
It's time to put your basic cursive skills to the test. The instructor will lead the scholars in practical applications of their cursive alphabet. Letter writing, Creative writing and Historical documents will all be utilized during the third level of cursive camp. Campers will be well on their way to using cursive writing for a lifetime. -
DASH Athleticism Camp: Grades 4-6
DASH Sports Summer Athleticism camps provide participants with an overall athleticism building camp experience including speed training, agility, endurance, body control/balance, quickness, strength, power, and jumping. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic performance. Campers should bring a water bottle, snack, and wear athletic shoes. -

DASH Sports Summer Athleticism camps provide participants with an overall athleticism building camp experience including speed training, agility, endurance, body control/balance, quickness, strength, power, and jumping. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic performance. Campers should bring a water bottle, snack, and wear athletic shoes. -
DASH Baseball Camp: Grades 3-6
DASH Sports summer T-ball/Baseball camps provide players with a well-rounded experience in a fun environment. Key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and baserunning will be taught and practiced, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle, snack, and a baseball glove (spikes and bats are optional). Baseballs and bats are provided. -
DASH Multi Sports: Grades 4-6
DASH Sports summer Multi-Sport camp includes fun skills training and games in three sports: Soccer, Basketball, and Flag Football. Athletes will spend roughly 1 hour learning and practicing each sport per day. Key sports skills will be taught and practiced in all 3 sports. Camp ends with games/scrimmages the final day for each sport, where athletes can showcase their skills. Campers should bring a water bottle and snack and athletic shoes and clothing. All equipment is provided. -
DASH Multi Sports: Grades K-3
