  • Kelle's Private Voice or Piano Lessons: Age 7+

    **Registration price is for four 30-minute lessons. Participants will have to reach out to the instructor via email to schedule the lessons. You'll receive this information after you've registered for the class** You will work one on one with an experienced vocal coach and piano teacher who has taught for over 30 years. Whether you’re new to music or have taken lessons in the past, together you will design a plan that will build from the ground up or off your current musical knowledge with engaging and fun techniques. This course will address basic skills, music theory and musicality that will allow you to progress toward your musical goals and lifelong enjoyment of music. Purchase of books recommended by your teacher will be required for lessons based on individual needs.

Each student program is determined based on individual needs. We will work on acquiring piano techniques, music reading, growing the repertoire, and performance skills.     Mikkonen Music Lessons: Gr. 1-12

    Thirty-minute music lessons in piano, guitar and ukulele are offered after school through Mikkonen Music. Lessons run continuously throughout the school year for students in grades 1-12 and meet once a week for 8-week sessions.   • Clay Bead & Jewelry Making with Mme French-Amara: Gr. 3-5

    Create handmade clay beads and charms to be used in your own unique jewelry pieces including key chains, bracelets, necklaces, and more! Over this 5-day class, students will be creating their own unique functional and wearable artworks. With the guidance and inspiration of Normandale Elementary' s licensed and experienced art specialist, Mme Leanne French-Amara, students will be using polymer and kiln-fired clay to create their own handmade beads and charms. After creating these original pieces, students will use their own creations in multiple jewelry items. Mme French-Amara has been an art specialist for almost 30 years, 16 of those years at Normandale Elementary School. She has also been a jewelry and craft creator since she was in elementary school!
