    Learn to Dive Mondays

    ***Prerequisites: Must be confident in deep water. Age is not as important as willingness to try new things.*** Learn basic springboard diving skills, diving safety, and how to use the diving board with proper technique. You'll increase your flexibility and have lots of fun! Beginning divers with little or no previous instruction are welcome. During this class, divers will learn the fundamentals of diving including: front approach with hurdle, front dive, back press, back dive, inward dive, front somersault. Often divers will take this class more than one time to achieve proficiency in the skills expected in Intermediate Diving. When the diver is ready to move to Intermediate, coaches will move them up even during the middle of a session.

    Intermediate Diving Mondays

    ***Prerequisites: Must be proficient in: front approach with hurdle, front dive, back dive, inward dive, front somersault. Age is less important than proficiency in the noted skills..*** If you already have some springboard diving experience, you can continue to build on the skills you've learned in earlier classes. Intermediate divers will be encouraged to try reverse dives, somersaults in all directions, twisting dives, etc. Often divers will take this class more than one time to achieve proficiency in the skills expected in Competitive Diving. When the diver is ready to move to Competitive, coaches will move them up even during the middle of a session.

    Competitive Diving Mondays

    ***Prerequisites: Participation is limited to divers who can successfully demonstrate dives from all five dive groups (forward, back, reverse, inward and twisting groups), or with instructor approval. Only 12 divers will be accepted. *** Divers with prior competitive springboard diving experience are welcome (high school varsity or junior varsity, or age group diving experience)! Instructors are all seasoned varsity and club diving coaches.

Games may include: Capture the Flag, Kickball, Dodgeball, Tag games, Ultimate Frisbee/Football, Sharks and Minnows, Soccer, and more! Participants will learn teamwork, and values such as respect, hustle, and price, all in a fun environment while increasing athleticism and learning teamwork and gameplay. Campers should bring a water bottle and athletic clothing/shoes. All other equipment is provided.

Participants will learn teamwork, and values such as respect, hustle, and price, all in a fun environment while increasing athleticism and learning teamwork and gameplay.   • Parent Toddler Swim: Ages 1-4

    Parents work together with Instructor Kay Zuccaro to encourage their young children (ages 1-4) to become comfortable in the water and to develop a readiness to swim. Toys and games help make this a fun and positive experience. Note: Swim diapers required if not toilet trained. A parent or guardian is required to participate in the water with their child.

    We will play games such as Capture the Flag, Busy Bee, Steal the Pin, etc. PE games will be run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30.
  • Wind Down Yoga: Concord Elementary

    After a busy day, join us for winding down your day with yoga! Our class focuses on helping to build a healthy body and healthy mind! We will work on de-stressing by breathing, balancing, flexibility and strengthening throughout each session with building positivity within ourselves and with others. Come join us! Please bring your own yoga mat and dress in comfortable, easy to move clothing. A snack will be provided for each session.
  • Archery 101: Gr. 5-9

    Nothing beats the thrill of hitting a bull’s-eye! Learn all aspects of range safety*, proper shooting techniques and the history of this ancient sport. Kids develop the discipline and skill of using bows and the joy of learning a centuries-old sport. You don't have to be fast, tall or even very strong to have success in Archery. *Please note that attendance at the first two days of club is required to be properly trained on all safety skills and rules. Attendance at all sessions is recommended. No prorating is available. Note: Safety rules are strictly enforced and Edina Community Ed staff reserves the right to immediately dismiss a participant for unsafe behavior.
  • Advanced Archery: Gr. 5-9

    Come learn some more advanced archery concepts that go beyond our introductory class. Shooting at greater distances, follow through, and scoring in an archery tournament will be explored in this class. Your student will have the opportunity to continue to build on their archery skill at a higher level than the introductory class. Your student must have completed the Archery 101 class in order to sign up for this class.
