  • South View Middle School Wrestling Team: Gr. 6-8

    Community Ed does not prorate for missed class sessions. Edina Community Education offers Wrestling for boys and girls in 6th- 8th grade. Our Season runs October 21 - December 20, 2024 Practices will be held Monday-Friday in the Valley View Middle School North Gym from 4:15-5:45pm. South View students can take activity bus to Valley View right after school. Wrestlers will be ready for pick-up by 5:45 each day. They may be picked up at VVMS Door 1 (main door by flag). Wrestling meets are still being determined with other school districts. Athletes and parents will be informed as soon as we know more. Wrestlers will need to purchase their own wrestling shoes. For practices, wrestlers should wear athletic shorts (no pockets) and a t-shirt. Wrestlers are required to bring fresh practice wear each day.     Get a taste of the Edina Dance Team by dancing with current members of EDT! Coach will teach the basics of team structure & performance dynamics. Jazz dance & new friends will create memories for years to come. Additional performance opportunity at the Edina Dance Invite on January 11th, 2025.

    Learn to Dive Wednesdays

    ***Prerequisites: Must be confident in deep water. Age is not as important as willingness to try new things.*** Learn basic springboard diving skills, diving safety, and how to use the diving board with proper technique. You'll increase your flexibility and have lots of fun! Beginning divers with little or no previous instruction are welcome. During this class, divers will learn the fundamentals of diving including: front approach with hurdle, front dive, back press, back dive, inward dive, front somersault. Often divers will take this class more than one time to achieve proficiency in the skills expected in Intermediate Diving. When the diver is ready to move to Intermediate, coaches will move them up even during the middle of a session.

    Intermediate Diving Wednesdays

    ***Prerequisites: Must be proficient in: front approach with hurdle, front dive, back dive, inward dive, front somersault. Age is less important than proficiency in the noted skills..*** If you already have some springboard diving experience, you can continue to build on the skills you've learned in earlier classes. Intermediate divers will be encouraged to try reverse dives, somersaults in all directions, twisting dives, etc. Often divers will take this class more than one time to achieve proficiency in the skills expected in Competitive Diving. When the diver is ready to move to Competitive, coaches will move them up even during the middle of a session.

    Competitive Diving Wednesdays

    ***Prerequisites: Participation is limited to divers who can successfully demonstrate dives from all five dive groups (forward, back, reverse, inward and twisting groups), or with instructor approval. Only 12 divers will be accepted. *** Divers with prior competitive springboard diving experience are welcome (high school varsity or junior varsity, or age group diving experience)! Instructors are all seasoned varsity and club diving coaches.
  • FAST- Functional Athletic Speed Training: Gr. 6-8

    FAST is a 7 week course focusing on an athletes ability to run, jump, and explode more efficiently. Students are taken through a guided warmup, a series of technique enhancers, and strength and speed drills to improve athletic performance and create a foundational base for improvement.

    Edina Gymnastics session 2

    Calling all HORNET gymnasts - Come do GYMNASTICS in the EDINA GYMNASTICS gym! Edina Gymnastics is designed to provide a flexible, more affordable option for gymnastics while catering to the needs of each individual gymnast and family. Whether your gymnast is preparing to join high school gymnastics, or an elementary school student looking for a low pressure experience, this is a great option! Our gymnasts will be thoughtfully placed in a group during practice, where they can best succeed. Our coaching team is composed of high school/college aged veteran coaches who have been involved with our program for some time PLUS adult coaches who are currently coaching the Edina Gymnastics program. Gymnasts will be able to build their skills, compose routines, and feel like they are part of a team!
  • Volleyball Skills Camp: Gr. K-2

    DASH Sports volleyball camps provide players with a well-rounded experience in a fun environment. Key volleyball skills such as passing, serving, and hitting will be taught and practiced. Fun, volleyball skill specific games are also incorporated, giving players game type experience, and a better understanding of the game! Athletes should bring a water bottle (knee pads optional). Balls are provided.

Players will be taught how to properly shoot, pass, dribble, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Each player will also receive a customized Jr. NBA jersey of their favorite team with their name and number on the jersey. Athletes should bring a water bottle. Balls are provided.

    We will play Capture the Flag, Steal the Pin, Busy Bee, etc on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:20-3:30.

    Looking for a fun non-school day filled with fun sports activities? This Multi-Sport camp includes fun skills training and games in three sports: Soccer, Basketball, and Flag Football. Athletes will spend roughly 1.5 hours on each sport, performing instructor-led fun skill-based activities and games. Also included in the daily activities are other fun games such as dodgeball, capture the flag, tag games, and more! Athletes should bring two snacks, a lunch, and a water bottle.
  • Non-School Day: Multi-Sport Gr. K-5
