    EPS Staff Open Fitness: summer 2025

    ***This class is for current EPS Staff members ONLY. You must be a current employee of Edina Public Schools to register for this class. *** All registrations begin on a waitlist. Full confirmation of class registration will happen once EPS employment has been verified. Facility Use Waiver is included in registration and must be on file before you may use the spaces. Use of the following spaces: Please be advised that the ECC Fitness Room in the basement of the ECC is only available during the summer. During the school year there are too many Edina sports teams conflicts. ECC 301 ECC 313 SV Gym weight room VV weight room is unavailable this summer due to construction/maintenance Registration for this class will stay open thru August so you can join in at any point.   • Restore Your Core® - Yoga for Core & Pelvic Floor

    In this series, we will move through stages 1 and 2 of the Restore Your Core® program as we explore ways to move our bodies to support the core and pelvic floor. Together we will discover our movement patterns, strengthen the systems that support the core and pelvic floor, and gain mobility and body awareness. This class is ideal for anyone who wants to begin healing pelvic floor injuries and strengthen their core, as well as folks who are at least 16 weeks postpartum. No previous yoga experience is necessary.     This gentle SUN family form improves mental and physical capacity as well as relaxation, balance and vitality! The postures are done in a slow, gentle, continuous sequence. Tai Chi has proven through numerous scientific studies to relieve pain, increase range of motion and improve quality of life. Arthritis foundations around the world and the CDC are recommending it for arthritis and fall prevention.   • The Victor Zone: Martial Arts for over 50

    Martial Arts Classes help seniors sharpen cognitive functions such as memory, executive reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities, all while improving skills needed for longevity including balance, strength, and coordination. The best way to learn is by having fun, and you can expect lots of laughter in this 45-minute class! Together, we practice ancient Filipino martial arts movements, working both empty-handed and also incorporating maneuvers with gentle foam sticks. Each class includes a thorough warm-up, cooldown, stretching, and builds from the last so that you feel progression and self-confidence in your ability level.     The Victor Zone: Self Defense for Women

    Have you ever felt unsure about your ability to protect yourself in a dangerous situation? Our self-defense class for women is designed to empower you with the skills and confidence to face physical threats head-on. Led by an experienced martial arts instructor, this class will teach you how to leverage your body's strengths and use simple, effective techniques to defend yourself, regardless of your size or age. You'll learn how to position yourself strategically, strike with power, block attacks, and break free from holds. By the end of this course, you'll have a greater sense of confidence and the ability to protect yourself from physical danger. If you are 14 or older you may take this class with a female guardian/parent. Each person will need to register individually.
