Ballet 1 is perfect for those who’ve completed Intro to Ballet or who have a solid grasp of foundational barre steps (plies, tendus, developpés, etc.). You will learn new barre and center steps, and begin incorporating more complex movements and arm positions (port de bras).   • Classical Ballet Variations

    This class focuses on learning and rehearsing one or two ballet variations together. Variations, the "solos" of the ballet world, range from famous pieces like Sugar Plum and four little swans to lesser-known gems, offering diverse styles and difficulty levels. Benefits of working on variations: Introduces steps not typically covered in class. Builds strength, stamina, and technique through weekly repetition. Enhances performance skills like spacing and character. Variations are the pinnacle of ballet, performed by elite dancers, and come in styles like adagio (slow) and allegro (quick and jump-filled). Some have multiple choreography options (e.g., Sugar Plum), while others (e.g., Lilac Fairy) follow traditional forms.   • Gain Without Pain: Improve Your Body & Life

    If you've had a joint replacement, or have a disability, if you walk with a cane, are a Senior, are overweight, a Couch Potato, or for any other reason, hesitate to exercise, this class is for you. Gain strength, balance, stamina, and body awareness in a fun, non-judgmental environment. Not aerobic nor fast-faced, no floor work. You will learn effective breathing and relaxation techniques, gentle flowing and stretching movements, as well as some simple self-acupressure. Most movements can be done sitting or standing. Wear loose comfortable clothes and flat shoes.     Learning the FUN-damentals of Unicycling will be the best part of your summer. Join Maxwell from Twin Cities Unicycling Club this summer to discover a new way of cycling. Unicycling is good for your balance, your brain, and it's just plain fun. Unicycles provided. Beginners welcome!
